This Tree House is a beautifully designed and crafted masterpiece!

Built high up within the branches of the tree it has amazing 360 degree views over the Ochil hills and beyond

Immerse yourself in peace and quiet in this totally self sufficient tree house, which has internal cooking facilities, shower and wood burning stove/ oven, while downstairs there is compost toilet.

Guests who have already visited have loved it, really appreciating
the loving attention to detail in the design and build. It really is an exceptional glamping experience.

Tree Howf Facilities​

• Totally self contained Tree Howf surrounding the ancient Ash Tree
• Hand made rustic King size bed with bedside lighting 
• Huge star gazing window above the bed - please note there is no blind - do bring a sleep mask if the light is likely to trouble you.
• Wood burning stove with  glass door so you can watch the flames.
• Two ring gas hob and oven.
• Fridge
• ​Crockery, cutlery, pots and pans
• Antique Belfast sink with hot and cold running water...   (Please do note that if the weather falls to freezing the water has to be turned off)
• Luxurious integral hot shower with adjacent wash hand basin -(In freezing conditions if water is off you have the full use of the facilities within the Wash Howf) Please note the minimal electricity in the Tree Howf can not cope with hair dryers so one is provided in the Wash Howf.
• Downstairs toilet- designer eco friendly compost toilet with wash hand basin and lighting
• Stunning viewing platform with superb views all around and heart shaped table for that romantic moment
• Fire pit and BBQ accessed by another stair to grassy area with fabulous views and total privacy
• Recycling facility and private parking within a 50 metre walk
• Access to shared fridge/freezer
• Cool box and ice packs available

(Please do note we have deliberately avoided fitting the Tree Howf out like a mini house, we have tried to keep it authentic and in keeping with its hand crafted style)

What to bring - Slippers are a must, a sleep mask if you are troubled by light, torch, camera, food and drinks remembering that bottle of bubbly and of course time....... to just sit and enjoy this really unique Tree Howf.

In the evening sit outside on the balcony overlooking the lochan and views of the Ochils. Test your cookery skills on the wood burning oven and enjoy your food al fresco. In the summer the swallows will dip in the water... You will be treated to lots of birds, wildlife, soay and ryeland sheep, ponies, our two donkeys, our pygmy goats, a variety of poultry including turkeys, rhea, guinea fowl, ducks and geese.

There is plenty to do in the area in the day but if you don't feel like leaving the 'Tree Howf' you can just enjoy the two acres of grounds and gardens at Craighead.

Kids - sorry but the Tree Howf is not suitable for children.
Dogs - Sorry but we can not accommodate dogs
