We were absolutely delighted to be asked to feature in an STV article about eco glamping and glamping Scotland tourism.

If you haven't seen the article click here to see it all and watch the little video!

Having opened the Wee Howf glamping accommodation only a few years ago we are absolutely delighted to be able to offer our guests 5 unique glamping stays now. We are thrilled that you have all loved it so much.

Looking forward to welcoming many more new guests and our returning visitors this year.

A Fond Farewell

If you receive our newsletter then you will already know that our beloved and friendly highland cow, Hero, passed away a few weeks ago.

Our big ginger nut has given our family many laughs over the years and she was always a delight to go out and feed every day. Her over-excitable personality and 'big wiggly horns' have been renowned amongst friends and guests alike.

She was a charming family pet that had been with us for over twenty years and will be sadly missed around Craighead.

Is it just us or is winter arriving later than usual? We are certainly are not complaining however as we absolutely love Craighead in the snow and so do our lovely guests!

Here are some photographs that our daughter took while out a little walk around Craighead the other day.

We wish all our previous and future guests an absolutely amazing 2016. May this year bring you so much happiness, new experiences and most of all adventure!

It is certainly a year that will see a few changes here at Craighead, the main being the launch of the Tree Howf.

Pedal Pedal Pedal

As a little holiday I wanted to explore Holland and it's outlying islands by bike - something I have always wanted to go back and do since I was a young man of 20 years old.

Heather and I are doing the last leg of our 70-miles-a-day cycle today and are very much looking forward to resting our legs!

As you can see from the photograph the great weather followed us and we have been a little soggy for a few days - nothing a Belgian beer won't fix!

We will be returning to Craighead tomorrow and I apologise if I have been slow in responding to your emails! I will get back to you as soon as I can!

The fuzzy eeyore's

Between buying eggs from producers all over the UK to searching for the next happy animal to have on the farm, Heather and I are delighted with the latest addition to Craighead. We have had them for almost a year and we couldn't be happier with them!

Our two miniature donkeys may be small but they have the biggest personalities and all our guests so far have loved them! I am extremely lucky to have Craighead as my home and a wife who lets me buy random animals!

Whatever should we get next...?

The Rhea Eggs

27/7/2015

This very pretty Rhea has started laying eggs. They are unbelievably huge and we have started referring them to as dinosaur eggs.

As you can see from the photos, the eggs are almost the same size as our family kettle and larger than a cheese knife!

Now we just have to figure out a way to spruce up our scrambled eggs recipe and share a few with guests!
