Over the festive period, work didn't slow down on the Tree Howf and as you can see from the photos it is really coming along!
The walls are up and the roof is on. The wood burning stove has been installed and a very quirky shower is in the midst of being put in! The random little touches will continue to be added over the coming months and we really hope that all our Tree Howf future guests will love the charm. It is the 1st of December and my goodness does the weather suggest that! It has been a tad soggy here at Craighead however we have not let a little wind and rain and now snow get in the way of the development of the Tree Howf.
It has been, and continues to be, such a great project! So many quirky things have been included that we very much hope all our future guests will love as much as I have had building them! Here are a few photos of how it is coming along! Let me know what you think! In a fleeting comment made to us by one of our sons, we have decided to try and get as much of the Tree Howf complete by Christmas as we hope to enjoy a Boxing Day family meal out in it! Logistically from a building perspective, we should be able to make it covered well enough. However from a delicious turkey meal point of view - well, we are going to find out!
Therefore this past week I have been busy building and developing the Tree Howf - I think you will agree it is coming along nicely! I have been very busy lately continuing work on the Tree Howf. It is really starting to come together and I am very excited to see what quirky touches I can do to it.
The foundations are all in and now the walls must be added! A few years ago I mentioned to my family that it would be great to build a tree house. My kids - who are all in their 20's - were delighted with the idea yet disappointed it was never built when they were younger while my wife, well she didn't say a thing thinking it would pass.
It didn't. I am delighted to share with you that planning permission has been granted and my son and I - who are both fully qualified joiners - have just begun work on the Tree Howf. We have great dreams for this project and we feel imagination is key! |
